Sometimes the choices on offer may not cover the most specialised interests that you have and you wish to explore a set of readings, theories or approaches that might help you in the formulation of your dissertation. You may also wish to work under the guidance of a member of faculty whose specialisation attracts you but is not offered as an optional module.
This module, which is a tutorial with one member of staff, is designed to allow you the flexibility to explore some ideas or a focus of research interest that you have which lies outside of the compulsory and optional modules on offer. At the end of the module, you will have read deeply in a subject area and produced two research papers that may inform your later research in your masters’ dissertation.
