ARA2011: Year Abroad Arabic Media Project
This module descriptor refers to the 2016/7 academic year.
Whilst the module’s precise content may vary from year to year, it is envisaged that the syllabus will cover some or all of the following topics:
- Preliminary discussion with Tutor/Module Coordinator followed by
- Independent research and study with regular contact with Tutor/Module Coordinator &
- Comments on and support with the development of the media project including through formative assessment and feedback.

|Scheduled Learning and Teaching Activity||12||Tutorials with Tutor/Module Convenor and IAIS language colleagues. These tutorials (conducted before departure to the year-abroad location and via the internet) are meant, initially, to establish the viability of the planned research, and to provide advice on its focus and direction, and then to provide advice on different aspects of the ongoing work and to monitor progress. The majority of tutorials will be individual (1 to 1) but there will also be group tutorials (approx. 4 x 1 hour).|
