In this module you will cover the major Islamist movements in the Middle East and Central Asia. Its aim is to explore the behaviour of these movements, understand their ideologies, and compare their similarities and differences in a cross-regional setting. You will also address the causes and the political consequences of the rise of Islamist movements in the Muslim-majority states. There are no pre- or co-requisites for this module.
