This is a lower intermediate level language course which will offer the students the opportunity to progress from the level of upper beginners to lower intermediate level. Students will be introduced to the skills of reception (reading and listening), production (speaking and writing), in addition to simple translation. On completion of this course, the student will be able to understand basic instructions, respond appropriately in everyday situations, express themselves using some range of vocabulary and formulaic expressions and use the target language in a number of contexts. By the end of the course the students are expected to achieve competence in Arabic approximately equivalent to lower B1 (common reference) level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF). The course content is based on a set course book plus supplementary material. You are required to have completed ARA1033B in order to take this module.
