He was born and raised in Kuwait, pursued graduate studies in the United States, and joined the University of Exeter for postgraduate studies where he is currently conducting his PhD research under the supervision of Professor Ilan Pappe and Professor Nadia Naser-Najjab. Through his doctoral research, he examines grassroots forms of Palestinian resistance to ongoing Israeli policies of ethnic cleansing in historical Palestine, focusing on East Jerusalem. His analysis is framed within the paradigm of settler colonialism. Abdullah seeks to contribute to the decolonisation of scholarship on Palestine by challenging dominant narratives and amplifying indigenous voices.

In addition to his role as a doctoral researcher, Abdullah is a postgraduate teaching associate at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies, University of Exeter.
