Dr Omar Anchassi
Research Fellow
I am an Islamicist with diverse interests in the intellectual history of Islamdom (modern and premodern), including but not limited to Islamic law and legal theory, kalām-theology, and qurʾānic studies. I am presently employed on a project that aims to map the bio-bibliographical history of Twelver-Shīʿī legal theory. Previously, I was an Early Career Fellow in Islamic Studies at the University of Edinburgh (2018-21) and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter (2016-18).
